The 2026 USANZ SA/NT Section Meeting will be a one day meeting taking place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

The Registrar Training afternoon will take place on Friday 167th October, also at the Crowne Plaza.

INVITED SPEAKERS

Associate Professor Matthew Roberts 

Associate Professor Matthew Roberts is a Consultant Urologist working publicly at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s and an Associate Professor at The University of Queensland. He completed urology training in Queensland and New South Wales obtaining an ERUS-accredited robotic fellowship at Nepean Hospital, where he received certification from the European Association of Urology Robotic Urology Section (ERUS). Matthew has performed more than 500 robotic procedures, with expertise in robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy and simple prostatectomy (RASP). He was the Clinical Lead for the robotic surgery program at STARS and is Director of the RBWH Urology Fellowship Program. His practice encompasses robotic uro-oncology, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and image-guided prostate diagnostics. He offers the full spectrum of contemporary surgical treatments for BPH, including RASP, HoLEP, TURP, bladder neck incision, Rezūm and UroLift, and serves as a proctor for robotic-assisted simple prostatectomy, robotic partial nephrectomy, HoLEP and PrecisionPoint transperineal prostate biopsy. He is a frequent invited speaker and educator at national and international urological meetings. Matthew has more than 15 years’ experience in prostate cancer research and over 10 years’ experience in prostate cancer clinical care. His research focuses on improving outcomes for men with localised and advanced prostate cancer through clinical trials, imaging, biomarkers, outcomes research and health economics. He has authored more than 180 peer-reviewed publications and serves as a principal investigator, steering committee member and site investigator on multicentre prostate cancer clinical trials. He is Deputy Chair of the ANZUP Prostate Cancer Subcommittee and a member of the European Association of Urology Prostate Cancer Guidelines Panel, the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia Research Advisory Committee and the USANZ Education Committee. His research has been published in leading journals including The Lancet Oncology, European Urology and Nature Reviews Urology.
