The 2026 USANZ SA/NT Section Meeting will be a one day meeting taking place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
The Registrar Training afternoon will take place on Friday 167th October, also at the Crowne Plaza.

Professor Dickon Hayne
Dickon Hayne is a Professor of Surgery at the University of Western Australia who leads urological research and education in urology. He is a uro-oncologic surgeon and is the Head of Urology for the South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS), WA. He is specialised in complex urologic cancer surgery and cancer research, especially for bladder cancer with over 130 Med-lined articles over 7000 citations and has been awarded numerous competitive grants (Cancer Australia (3, CIA 1) and NHMRC (3, CIA 1) attracting a total of over $6M in research funding. Dickon Chairs the Bladder, Urothelial and Penile (BUP) Cancer Sub-committee of the Australian & New Zealand Urogenital & Prostate Cancer Trials Group (ANZUP) and is PI on several investigator-initiated bladder cancer studies including BCG+MM, ZipUp, G-DISCO, G-DISCOTEQ and the SUBDUE trials.
Associate Professor Matthew Roberts
Associate Professor Matthew Roberts is a Consultant Urologist working publicly at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s and an Associate Professor at The University of Queensland. He completed urology training in Queensland and New South Wales obtaining an ERUS-accredited robotic fellowship at Nepean Hospital, where he received certification from the European Association of Urology Robotic Urology Section (ERUS). Matthew has performed more than 500 robotic procedures, with expertise in robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy and simple prostatectomy (RASP). He was the Clinical Lead for the robotic surgery program at STARS and is Director of the RBWH Urology Fellowship Program. His practice encompasses robotic uro-oncology, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and image-guided prostate diagnostics. He offers the full spectrum of contemporary surgical treatments for BPH, including RASP, HoLEP, TURP, bladder neck incision, Rezūm and UroLift, and serves as a proctor for robotic-assisted simple prostatectomy, robotic partial nephrectomy, HoLEP and PrecisionPoint transperineal prostate biopsy. He is a frequent invited speaker and educator at national and international urological meetings. Matthew has more than 15 years’ experience in prostate cancer research and over 10 years’ experience in prostate cancer clinical care. His research focuses on improving outcomes for men with localised and advanced prostate cancer through clinical trials, imaging, biomarkers, outcomes research and health economics. He has authored more than 180 peer-reviewed publications and serves as a principal investigator, steering committee member and site investigator on multicentre prostate cancer clinical trials. He is Deputy Chair of the ANZUP Prostate Cancer Subcommittee and a member of the European Association of Urology Prostate Cancer Guidelines Panel, the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia Research Advisory Committee and the USANZ Education Committee. His research has been published in leading journals including The Lancet Oncology, European Urology and Nature Reviews Urology.
Dr Nigel Dunglison
Dr Nigel Dunglison graduated MBBS (University of Queensland) in 1989 and completed his Urological Surgery Training (FRACS (urol) in 2000. Dr Dunglison was awarded the Australasian Fellowship and completed a two year sub-specialty fellowship training in the field of Reconstructive and Prosthetic Urology at The Institute of Urology within University College London in London, UK. Dr Dunglison has conducted Reconstruction and Prosthetic Urology at the RBWH and the Wesley Hospitals since 2002. Dr Dunglison is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a Member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ). He is an overseas member of BAUS (The British Association of Urological Surgeons) and a Member of the Australian Medical Association. Dr Dunglison graduated in 1989 and spent his Internship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital before undertaking two years of country service in the inland Wide Bay. He commenced junior surgical training rotations in 1993 and obtained an Advanced General Surgical training position in 1995 and transferred to Urological Training in 1997. He graduated FRACS (Urology) in 2000 whilst working as ‘The Australasian Fellow’ at The Institute of Urology and completed his sub-specialty training in Reconstruction and Prosthetic Urological Surgery. Dr Dunglison returned to Brisbane in 2002 following appointment as the Director of Urology at Royal Brisbane and Womens’ Hospital (RBWH) and continued in this role until 2016. Dr Dunglison has undertaken the Reconstruction and Prosthetic Urology surgeries along with other complex tertiary and general urology surgeries at RBWH and The Wesley Hospital since 2002.
